ZUMBA®  

Turn your workout into a Party @ Kathy's Beach House by ZK FIT!

This is more than a workout ~ it's a real release.

Zumba combines high energy Latin and international music with easy-to-follow dance moves for a fun, full body cardio experience allowing you to just let go & 'let them'.  This class lifts your mood, supports emotional release, and reconnects you to your body in a fun, welcoming space.  You'll burn calories, boost endurance, and share laughs while moving together in a social, beach-house vibe.  

No experience needed, just show up ready to dance and feel recharged.

This class is done in sneakers.  Please bring a towel and water bottle.


COUNTRY LINE DANCING:  

A gentle, feel-good line dancing class designed to release stress, lift your spirit, and reconnect you to your body through rhythm and community.  Easy steps, welcoming energy, and no pressure or judgements ~ just movement that is medicine, soothing the soul and energizing the body and mind.

A great class to melt stress away while you move, laugh, and reconnect.  

After class, stay and unwind at the bar with a cup of coffee, a glass of wine or a cold beer, sharing connection and allowing conversation to unfold naturally where the camaraderie is always contagious.  "Move gently.  Sip slowly. Connect deeply"

This class is done in boots or shoes with a smooth bottom.  Please bring a towel and water bottle.


BARRE @ THE BAR:

Meet us where movement feels magical and the ocean energy meets the barre.

'BARRE @ THE BAR" is a playful, beach-inspired movement, deep core work, and gentle strength training with soulful music and feel-good vibes.

This is more than a workout, it's a moment to reconnect with your body, reset your mind, and move with intention.  Expect small, powerful movements, a satisfying burn, and a calming sense of flow that leaves you feeling both energized and grounded.

And when class ends, meet us at the 'BARRE @ THE BAR' ~ for connection and fun with wine choices such as 'The Final Pulse' (Pinot Noir), 'The Core Burn' (Cab), ''The Coastal Calm' (Chardonnay), 

or "The Sunrise Stretch' (Mimosa)

Beer choices such as 'The Final Set' (Lager), 'The Beach Burn' (Pilsner), 

'The Coastal Cooldown' (Light beer)'.  

or a cup of "Grounded & Glowing' (dark roast coffee)

How to prepare for this class:

This class is done in bare feet or no-slip socks.  Please bring your own mat, towel and water.  If you're livestreaming this class, bring a small band, a long band, a set of light weights (3 lb) and a yoga mat. We'll be using the ballet barre in our live class, you can use your kitchen counter or even a door frame.     


MAT PILATES:

Strengthen from the inside out with this low-impact, full-body workout focused on core strength, posture, balance, flexibility, and mindful movement.  Using controlled movements and breathwork, Mat Pilates helps tone and lengthen muscles while improving stability, mobility, and body awareness.  Perfect for all fitness levels, this class leaves you feeling stronger, taller, energized, and more connected to your body.  Modifications are always offered, making it welcoming for beginners while still challenging for experienced participants. 

Move with intention.  Strengthen with control.  Feel the difference.

How to prepare for this class:

This class is done in bare feet or non-slip socks.  Please bring your own mat, towel and water.

If you're livestreaming this class, bring a small band, an exercise ball and a yoga mat. 


RIDE THE WAVE:

Find your heartbeat again.  Talk therapy is not enough... so we ride it out together.  This is a cycling experience rooted in rhythm, release and renewal.  

Ride to the rhythm, challenge your limits, and leave feeling stronger than when you walked in.  This high energy indoor cycling class combines motivating music, endurance training, hills, intervals, and fun choreography to deliver a full body cardio workout for all fitness levels.  Control your own resistance and pace while improving cardiovascular health, burning calories, building lower body strength, and boosting your mood.  Whether you're a beginner or an experienced rider, you'll be encouraged, energized, and supported every step of the ride.

What to Expect:

BODYSHRED® by creator Jillian Michaels (the famous TV trainer from 'The Biggest Loser'):

Your ZK Fit Instructor, Kathy Streck, trained with Jillian while living in California!  

Kathy will bring the heat in this 30 minute HIIT class (High Intensity Interval Training).  A class focused on your BODY as we SHRED it ~  

      (Synergistic, High-Intensity, Resistance, Endurance, & Dynamics)

This describes the primary elements and variables you'll demand of your body each time you participate in a BODYSHRED® class @ ZK FIT. 

We are so excited to offer this scientific, fact-based system to our students. 

A system of multi-layered techniques, integrated philosophies and dynamic movement with a progressive, sequential order to the exercises.  

BODYSHRED® offers every individual a personal inspiration to achieve true fitness and...

a rockin' body!

Benefits: To develop, increase and/or improve cardio/metabolic, endurance / stamina, calorie burn / potential fat loss, higher EPOC (after burn effect), muscle fiber activation to define / condition muscles, muscular endurance and power for optimal output, athletic performance, immune function, decrease stress, balance hormone levels and self-confidence and self-empowerment.

How to prepare for this class:

This class is done in sneakers. Please bring a mat, towel and water. Do not participate with a full stomach.  

If you're live streaming this class, please have a set of light and heavy weights (3-5 lb & 8-10 lb), 

a band with handles and a yoga mat.

 

SILVER n' FIT:

A class designed for Seniors but open to all!  Here's what you'll need:  a chair, a set of 2-5 lb. hand weights (or two bottles of water will do).  We'll also use our own body weight to tone and sculpt. 

Your instructor will get you up on your feet moving around the chair and to use the chair for balancing exercises.  Please be sure to get clearance from your physician before starting this or any exercise class.  

How to prepare for this class:

Wear comfortable workout clothes and bring a water bottle for drinking along with that chair and weights of some sort mentioned above if you're joining us live online.


BODY SCULPTING: 

We'll use dumbbell hand weights, resistance bands, stability balls and our own body weight to tone and sculpt your body in a small group setting where everyone gets the attention they want and deserve.  Have you ever been to a huge class at a ‘huge gym’, where you were just another face in the crowd listening to the instructor and with each exercise wondering, 'am I doing this right and/or is this exercise effective?'  With ZK, you're not just another face in the crowd!  First and foremost,…our #1 concern is your safety.  

How to prepare for this class:

This class is done in sneakers.  Please bring your own mat, towel and water.

If you're livestreaming this class, bring light and heavy sets of weights (3-5 lb & 8-10 lb), a band with handles, a small band, an exercise ball and a yoga mat. 


STRETCH & MOBILITY:

This 45-minute Stretch & Mobility class blends movement and static stretching to improve flexibility, increase range of motion, and reduce muscle tension.  Through guided mobility exercises and intentional stretching sequences, participants will enhance joint health, posture, and overall body awareness.  Perfect for all fitness levels, this class is designed to help you move better, recover faster, and feel refreshed.

How to prepare for this class:

You're welcome to wear sneakers or take the class in bare feet.  Please bring your own mat, towel and water.  


HATHA YOGA w/ Kathy: 

Hatha style yoga for all levels.  The idea of our ZK YOGA class is to explore YOUR personal limits, not to strive for pretzel-like perfection or drown in esoteric teachings.   This is a Hatha Yoga class. The word Hatha: (Ha meaning Sun, and tha meaning Moon) signifies a combining of complementary forces.  A pose is often followed by a counter pose to balance the body.  In Hatha Yoga, poses are held for varying lengths of time, and most can be modified to some extent to make them more appropriate for various fitness levels. 

How to prepare for this class: 

This class is done in bare feet.  Please bring a yoga mat and water.


IYENGAR YOGA w/ Susan:

A mindful, alignment-focused yoga class designed to build strength, flexibility, balance, and body awareness through precise movement and breath.  Using props such as blocks, straps, bolsters, and chairs, this practice helps students safely deepen poses while improving posture, mobility, and stability.  Perfect for all levels, from beginners to experienced yogis, especially those recovering from injury, managing stress, or looking for a slower, more intentional practice.

Move with precision.  Breathe with purpose.  Leave feeling balanced, grounded & restored.

How to prepare for this class:

This class is done in bare feet.  Please bring a yoga mat and water.


YIN-YASA YOGA w/ Dawn:

Step onto your mat and into a state of balance.  This Yin-Yasa style class offers a mindful approach to fluid movement, giving you the time and space to explore each pose fluidly.  

Yin-Yasa Yoga is a beautifully balanced practice that blends the slow, deep stretches of Yin Yoga with the flowing movement of Vinyasa Yoga.  Class begins with gentle, breath-connected movement to build strength, mobility, and warmth, then transitions into longer-held Yin postures designed to release tension, improve flexibility, and calm the nervous system.  Perfect for all levels, Yin-Yasa helps create balance in both body and mind, leaving you feeling energized, grounded, restored and deeply relaxed.

How to prepare for this class:

Arrive 10 minutes early so you can settle in, breathe, and avoid rushing.  Leave distractions at the door.  Let the instructor know of any injuries, limitations or if you're new to yoga.  Hydrate throughout the day, but don't over drink right before class.  Avoid eating a heavy meal 1-2 hours before class.  Wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely.  During class, listen to your body.  Yoga is not about perfection or comparison. Come to Kathy's Beach House as you are.  Breathe deeply, move gently, and give yourself permission to simply be present.


THE HUMMINGBIRD w/ Kathy:

A deeply nurturing guided meditation ~ designed to help release and heal trauma.  

In this restorative practice, you'll remain in savasana (laying supine on a yoga mat) from start to finish - fully supported and at ease - as you're gently guided through breath, visualization, and energy awareness.  Like the hummingbird, you'll be invited to lighten your heart, awaken inner joy, and find freedom in stillness.  This unique class is an invitation to rest, restore, and renew your beautiful, strong spirit through mindful presence and compassion.

Wear comfy clothes and socks or bare feet.  Please bring a yoga mat. As well as a pillow & blanket if you'd like.  The instructor will offer an aromatherapy oil as well as an eye mask for your enjoyment.  


RHYTHM & RISE:

This is a faith-inspired dance class set to uplifting Christian music.  This joyful, expressive movement experience blends easy-to-follow dance fitness choreography with moments of freedom and flow, inviting you to move your body, lift your spirit, and rise in joy and gratefulness.

Rooted in praise and positivity, this class is about connection, release and renewal.  Come as you are and where you are at in your life's journey.  Move at your own pace, and leave feeling energized, encouraged, and spiritually uplifted.  No dance experience required. 

At Kathy's Beach House, Rhythm & Rise is where movement becomes medicine, connection feels natural and it's a safe space where you can reset, reconnect through RHYTHM so we can all RISE together ~ Because we believe healing should NOT be isolating!

This class is done in sneakers or bare feet.  Please bring a towel and water bottle.

If you're livestreaming this class, feel free to wear a weighted vest.


AQUA FITNESS:

This class is in Kathy's personal pool.  A group exercise class which provides cardiovascular conditioning.  Exercising in the water provides a supportive environment for every body.  The buoyancy of the water reduces your weight on impact, resulting in much less strain on your joints and muscles.  This makes Aqua fitness a good choice for those new to exercise, those who can't move easily and for those who are looking for a gentle way to get fit and lose weight.  Aqua fitness also helps strengthen the body because the water offers resistance.  Water has much more resistance than air.  The resistance exerted by water applies in both directions as you push and pull against it.  This means that each movement you make works two opposing muscle groups, not just one, as is the case when you work against gravity.  Same effort but double the benefit.

As always, if you have any health concerns please check with your doctor before taking this or any new form of exercise class.

Here's what you can expect in an Aqua fitness class with Kathy:

* a short stretching warm-up to get your body used to the water and your muscles ready for exercise.

* Cardiovascular exercises to get your heart pumping, such as jogging, leg kicks, body twists, arm exercises and other dance-like movements.

*Balancing exercises

*Exercises with water weights and skim boards.

*Coordination exercises

*Stretches

*A cool-down of stretches at the end to avoid injury.

Wear a bathing suit & cover-up and bring a bathing/beach towel.  This class is done in bare feet or water shoes if you prefer.  Outdoor shower is available to rinse off after class.  This is a chlorine pool.

This class is currently not available for livestreaming.


Note:  We encourage you to bring your own exercise / yoga mat!  Community mats are available for use in the studio.  It is your responsibility to clean them when you're finished using.  You'll find cleaning supplies near these yoga mats.
